getsome podcast

I've been called everything from a N-word lover to the funniest white guy in black comedy. But the truth is...I'm a stand-up comic and actor who grew up in an abusive Cincinnati trailer park. My wife and kids are black, a lot of my white family members hate me, and I'm a loyal Bengals fan. This podcast is where you'll get to hear the truth about the good, the bad, and the ridiculous from my daily life!

#GetSome is a weekly podcast where comedian-actor Gary Owen serves up a hefty dose of ADHD, barbershop-style storytelling focused on his most recent experiences on the road as a stand-up. Owen also throws in a side dish of hilarious sports rants and childhood "crazy step-dad" stories, with a few scoops of exclusive tales about his life as a husband, father, military veteran, and Cincinnati Bengals fan.

Gary Owen is a comedian and actor who has been entertaining America for more than a 20 years with his side-splitting comedy and onscreen performances. Having headlined and performed to sold-out audiences in all the major comedy clubs and theaters across the U.S., Owen is one of America’s most beloved comedians.

He has produced and starred in six (6) stand-up comedy TV specials, and his own reality TV show on BET titled "The Gary Owen Show". As an actor, Gary has appeared on several TV shows and more than 15 films (Meet The Blacks [1 and 2], Think Like A Man [1 & 2], Ride Along). Owen has also been a guest on some of TV's biggest talk shows, including: Steve Harvey, Rachel Ray, Wendy Williams, and The Real.

Gary's big break came in the late 90's after two appearances on the TV comedy showcase, “BET's ComicView,” won him a one-hour “grandstand” show. Owen did so well that it led to him being selected to host a full season of the comedy stand-up TV series. The rest, as they say, is history. 🌐
